I came here to post a Steve Marriott video............ Then saw Jamie`s post with her pictured with Frampton and decided to revamp a bit>>>>>>> So here`s a Humble Pie video, with all 3 vocalists taking a turn: and Steve Marriott still shinin` on in one of his later bands doin` a Humble Pie song: and for Jamie: Here`s Peter Frampton doin` some Humble Pie later on>>>>>>>>> Humble Pie is STILL oneamy Favorite Bands of All Time ! Those 4 original members have stayed in constant rotation in my music listening since I first heard them, like nearly 45 years ago, when they first rocked this country boy`s world. Would LOVE to hear Davy and Peter knock out a few Humble Pie songs one day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Attachments:

Hi RK, here is something else I recently did. Even though it's not Peter Frampton, it's my gift to him because he has lived with the 30 day curse for over 30 years LOL! The viral 'Thirty days in the Hole' video with nearly 2 million hits that features pictures of him doesn't help. My video contest win came with a Skype call with Davy. We chatted for about 45 minutes, and it was great! Obviously Peter Frampton came into conversation, because it was Peter who introduced me to Davy's music. Davy said he was amazed at how humble Peter was. He said that he and Peter were out to lunch one day, and a fan jumped out and startled Peter and said "I am a huge fan, ever since the Herd days and 30 Days In The Hole is my favorite song" Instead of correcting and embarrassing the guy, Peter graciously thanked the guy, gave him an autograph, and then later said to Davy "Ugh that song". Then I said to Davy "If I had 30 cents for every time someone shouted out 30 days in the hole to Peter, I would be one rich chick, and we both busted a gut! LOL! One of the best bands in the land with and without Peter Frampton! Here is some Humble Pie done right!!!! .... www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIyLijuoqoI

I had a hard time with Frampton leaving and held it against him for years, rightly or wrongly. I was just a teenager when my favorite band in the world got ripped apart by the asperations of Pop Music Fame. Years later, I can understand how and why Peter made the switch. Steve wouldn`t have been the easiest guy to be in constant companionship with, and the market was open to the golden boy with the face and the guitar. I have again very much enjoyed Peter and his music again for many years now. I had a hard time getting used to Clem as a replacement, mostly because I never like Colosseum at all !
Now.......anything Humble Pie is worth a spin to me, BUT the original lineup is still the Ultimate Pie experience !
I can see where Davy and Peter would get along great.

Havin` a mornin` of IZZY............
Back in `87 I jumped in with both feet, when Guns `N` Roses re-jump started Rock `N` Roll !!!
The `80`s were a dead spot in music history as far as my tastes were concerned, then came the big hair bands and everything took on a new energy and direction. Almost immediately, people developed a hatred for it and that inspired musicians once again to be original and creative and get off the coke and get off their asses and start a new drive and direction in music. As much as I cringe at the name Axl Rose and today`s G`N`R they have a footnote in music history that cannot be denied.
Anyhow G`N`R were a new favorite for me........for a short stint. Then I became aware of who and what Axl really was and started to drift from them and the other new bands of a similar vein. Izzy Stradlin split from Axl......wouldn`t you ??.....and I followed him through some of his stuff, which I liked alot. I kept thinking what a great fit he`d make with the Black Crowes, but I guess Chris and Rich never thought of it.
I just saw where Izzy and Duff are working on a new album, and have started diggin` back into my music by Izzy and exploring more. Here`s a newer video I just saw for the first time today and a couple favorites from the past.
and this is the one you may be most familiar with:

Warren Haynes` 27th Annual Christmas Jam in Asheville N.C.
Some videos are starting to come in
Here`s a Warren Haynes Christmas Jam Band video with Duane Betts playing The Dickey Betts` parts.
Duane looks just like his Dad did like 35-40 years ago near and after the 3 minute mark:

40 years ago, These guys were in my top listening cycle..........
Woke up at about 4 AM thinkin` about Allen Collins and his blistering Firebird playing !
Here`s a great example of his and his bandmate`s talents.
Hard to believe that 4 out of 6 in this lineup are dead...........
and that 1 is badly damaged physically and the other mentally.

My son has been substitute teaching for the music teacher at our local school and was teaching about beats and drumming and one kid was quick to play for the others........and my son said to him....you are doing very well at this.....and the boy responded........I learned from the best......my father.......to which my son replied........I know your father and he is Very Good ! The boys father is Justin Strickland, and his drumming took him from this small town all around the world for a few years as the drummer for 25 Ta Life. Now I don`t like this "music" BUT I can feel the rhythm and beat in this and enjoy it. Being that I`ve known Justin since he was a pre-schooler, and known his parents most of my life makes it more enjoyable for me. Justin lives a block away from me and when he and my son decide to practice their drums at the same time..........nobody in a 4 to 5 block square area get any rest ! Unfortunately for Justin, he never got proper credits for his playing as he was always called by nicknames such as Justin The Jew, or Jay Skins or whatever Rick(Ta Life) decided to call him.

I was never one to get too excited about Frank Zappa`s music................
I always thought he should take his own advise: Shut Up And Play Your Guitar..............
However, I always enjoyed this song and most of the rest of Over-Nite Sensation as well:

Here`s a guy that I`ve been enjoying since I first heard Polk Salad Annie in my youth..............
He`s also the guy who wrote As A Crow Flies, even though Rory Gallagher is who most know it by............
At least in my circle of listeners.
Just found out that he also lives near my brother outside of Nashville.
Maybe I`ll get to see him in 3 weeks when I`m down there.
I really love the addition he`s made to recent Lucinda Williams recordings as well.............
Here`s the original Swamp Rocker..........Tony Joe White:
And here`s Tony doin` a Funky version of his song As A crow Flies:

Luther`s the real deal.......great musician, great guy ! I`m happy and proud for him on this newest project: General info on Luther: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luther_Dickinson
