Everyday when I wake up and get on the computer, I start off by going to Kim Simmonds/Savoy Brown facebook page and reading his posts about music history. Kim has been out there touring for 50 years and has a similar music sense to what I am into also. I find his posts interesting and insightful: www.facebook.com/SavoyBrown65I`ve been listening to him since I first heard Hellbound Train and Tell Mama back in the early `70s. The other day it was the anniversary of Johnny Guitar Watson`s death and Kim posted that when Johnny played his last gig and collapsed after a heart attack and was dying.......that his last words were: "Ain`t That A Bitch" I just thought that was so fitting to the man and how he lived and communicated. He remained true to his spirit, even facing death. Here`s his song by the same name:

I`m deviating from my norm on these...........but I woke up with my morning coffee and watching the weather channel, which is my usual wake up, and when Stephanie Abrams first appeared this song started in the back of my mind and wouldn`t go away until I found it and watched it on youtube. I had forgotten that before Paris Hilton there was Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, and before that there was Lionel Richie, and before that was The Commodores with Lionel Richie on sax: Then that song put this one in my mind: Then I got thinking that I`m going down the wrong road so I opened my email and found my brother saw the Stones last night in Nashville. He said that Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood opened for tham and called out Joe Walsh to join them. I then started checking out youtubes from last night and found this, then I was back on the proper track for me musicwise: Here`s 3 pictures from last night`s Stones show:

I went to The Alley Blues club in Sanford, FL on Sat night and a house party broke out. It was a rare atmosphere. Selwyn Birchwood on guitar, Regi Oliver on sax, trading licks all over the bar and up on it too. "I Got Loaded"

I remember when we went to the Country Music Hall Of Fame in Nashville in 2001......... Went for my wife`s enjoyment............... BUT I found some things there of Steve Earle and of course Waylon and Johnny too. Still LOVE the early Steve Earle stuff about growing up country ! Here`s 4 of my favorites: Looking forward to seeing him(them) again on Aug. 5th......without his ex wife ! She gave me the hard looks when I passed up talking to her, after she signed the vinyl.............. to move on to the next band member for a chat. After all......she WAS the Dutchess..............Not Anymore !

My brother sent me home an early birthday present with my son. He bought it at 3rd Man Records in Nashville. It is an album that Neil Young recorded in Jack White`s recording booth at 3rd Man records. Here`s the intro that he recorded to his dear departed mother: and a Bob Dylan song he did: Dalton got home about 3 AM from Nashville.............. and a couple pictures of the package I got the vinyl in, the vinyl, a sticker and two boxes of matches Attachments:
