My brother saw, heard and met Greyhounds last night and their road manager(he`s the one dressed in the space suit) They drove straight through from Austin to Franklin(Nashville suburb) and just made it in time to do 6 songs and a radio interview. I was listening in and they were AMAZING ! They then did a shout out for their gig at Pucketts on the 24th . Pucketts is only selling 100 tickets and over 75 are gone. They are performing as a 3 piece with Anthony Ferrell on keyboards and vocals, Andrew Trube on guitars and vocals and Anthony(A.C.) Cole on drums. They are all 3 a part of JJ`s band. JJ is in Europe finalizing concert deals right now. I am stoked for my extra special gig that I am being given credit for getting off the ground. It`s hard to impress the professional musicians of Nashville, but last night these guys did ! Heads Up.......they play Martyrs in Chicago tonight.

Here`s a couple videos from the other night>>>>>>>>
THEY~RE AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!
I head to Nashville at about 2 A.M. `bout when the ice and snow start. Was gonna go west on I 80 then south but that`ll put me headlong into the clipper. I see a bridge collapsed along my route last night in Cincinnati ......looks like I gotta reshuffle the deck and pick a new route................Guess I`m headed south on I 81 to I 40 west now. Guess i`ll stop at my grandparents grave in eastern Tennessee now.
Have a good one all........
Hope you have 2 good shows in N.Y.C. Davy.
R.K.

We had an EXCELLENT SHOW !!! Only show I`ve ever been at for only 100 people and everything was on the honor system.......... Nobody manning, or monitoring the door.............. the names of us were on the tables we were to sit at......... everyone was in charge of going to the counter after the show and telling how many tickets they had, how many beers they drank, and how much food did you eat, etc. and paying for it. Justin Timberlake`s manager sat at the table behind us, and Jack White(married to Katy Segal and played drums for Rick Springfield) was passing the hat to take up more of a collection for the band. They have already picked a date in April and one in June to tentatively come back for more ! They spent 3 nights in a house a half block from my brother`s house.......and 3 blocks from Pucketts, where they played. What a cool little community ! I met a # of known people and saw a few more too................... Too much happened over a few days.........post more later.......just got home last night, after 700 + miles...... Here`s a few pictures:

Wednesday we drove 125 miles to Millvale, just outside of Pittsburgh and saw The London Souls open for JJ Grey & Mofro. It was the first time we had seen the London Souls, and they were worth seeing. They walked past me as they headed to the stage door and looked nervous at this sold out show. Tash strapped his signature guitar and off they went for 40 minutes and then with the house lights down, they and a couple roadies did a quick tear down and out came JJ. I said to my wife: I wonder why they did such a quick change over. Then we saw how drunk JJ was. It can`t be seen from the first video, but he forgot the Lyrics and started into talking. He missed the lyrics two outta the first 4 songs and then got in the groove, after almost falling down. Still much energy in their performance. I bought a copy of their new album, which was officially released the day before. I bought a vinyl copy and a CD copy............saved me a bunch of money over the expensive vendor charges for internet shipping charges. I said hello to Todd(bass) and AC(drums) before the show. Came home without staying for any chats or signatures as we both had an early morning start after our 125 mile drive home. My two favorites from the night: Was our 4th time seeing them in 4 years. Thanks for that link Rick.
I`ve listened to the new album several times now and really enjoy it. It is a softer album than most of his.
Just so you know: It implies in that link that Anders, Luther and Marc all contribute to the album. Actually only Luther, of the three, is on it......playing on The Hurricane & The Island. Also Derek Trucks plays on Every Minute.
Would still like to see JJ and those 3 as Southern Soul Assembly......maybe next round.
Looks like your next JJ Grey & Mofro show might be Tuck Fest in April........
They start up in Europe next week.
