Hello to everyone who has come here in the name of Davy Knowles.
I am Rick Kendrick. I am a 58 year old self employed painting contractor that lives in Clearfield Pennsylvania. I love my family and nature. I am very comfortable in the mountainous woods of central Pa. I have spent most of my life wandering through them and enjoying every minute of it. Besides nature and family my two big passions in life started when I was 11. They are riding motorcycles and collecting and listening to music. I still have a turntable and play vinyl nearly every day, and continue to buy new releases in vinyl, when the artist offers it. I have thousands of vinyls and refused to switch to CDs until 2002. I now have thousands of them too. I go to my hunting camp every year and live for a week or two for deer season. Besides work, most of the rest of my spare time is for riding and music related things. I see as many live shows as I can afford and are available to me. We go see North Mississippi Allstars tomorrow night. My last show was The Chris Robinson Brotherhood a couple weeks ago. For my birthday this year, in Aug. my oldest son took me back stage to meet Joan Jett. She is someone I`ve wated to meet since she was a teenager and barnstormin`the world with The Runaways back in like `76 &`77. As good as the music was back in the late `60s and early `70s I still am checking out the new musicians coming up. I`ve had the pleasure of seeing some at early stages like seeing Davy in 2008 when he was 21 or Jonny Lang in `98 when he was 16. I get as much of a thrill out of that as I did experiencing Hendrix, or Clapton, or Steve Marriot and so on that have been familiar to me most of my life. We had the pleasure of seeing Gary Clark Jr. a few months back at a small club.....another new sensation that I was thrilled to see.
I don`t play music(my son does), but it is a HUGE PASSION for me........that`s why I`m here.
I can understand the rest of you being here too. Davy is a very gifted and special person, not just a musician. He not only has exceptional talent but loves what he`s doing. He is also a fan as well as a talent. He admires and has been influenced by great players before him, who he gives credit to, and turns others on to as he delivers the goods to his own fans. I admire his humbleness and friendliness. I wish you a long and happy career as a musician Davy. Don`t forget to keep yourself happy and fulfilled as you do your fans.
Best Wishes, Rick
