I hope you enjoyed your bluesfest in sunny Florida ! ON the 18th, I buy tickets for my main venue in my usual seats for Hot Tuna Electric. thestatetheatre.org/Last time I had tickets to see them electric(last year), my legs wouldn`t let me go to the show so I gave them to my son and his girlfriend. I then got to see them acoustic, but prefer them electric> So I`ve now got 5 shows in the next 9 weeks: James Cotton, Charlie Musselwhite and John Hammond The Weight Taj Mahal Trio Blue Oyster Cult and Kansas Hot Tuna Electric still looking for more........... I passed on the Rolling Stones but my wife and two boys and one boy`s girlfriend are going. Just can`t pay $113 to watch them as ants or on a jumbotron............... Couldn`t compare with being in the grimey herd down front in Cleveland in `75. Now that was an adventure ! Attachments:

Just saw Ritchie Furay last month. Going to see John Sebastian in May. Will see Greg Allman at the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival in May, but I was really going to see Davy but he had to cancel. Oh well, I am trying to see all the old guys before they die or before I die. Saw Neil Young, missed Johnny Winter and there are a few more I'd like to see.....

Just got back from Pittsburgh with my son. We saw Charlie Musselwhite, John Hammond and James Cotton.
Was the first time seeing all these musicians for Dalton and I.
Here was my favorite from the night from Charlie and his band:
John Hammond did some solo acoustic stuff and joined in with the others for some too:
James Cotton hardly has a voice left or can barely walk, but he can still blow that harp:

Hi Ralf, On one song they ALL 3 played harmonica`s together. Charlie`s band was exceptionally good and tight too.........Great Tone ! It wasn`t a long show, but it WAS a memorable one. I`d love to hear that you checked out Gov`t Mule this month in Germany............hint, hint.. p.s.....I never use smiley faces......so that tells you how much I`m trying to catch your attention. Our next show in a few weeks: Here`s 3 pictures of Mule playing in Finland a few years ago. An internet friend of mine was being pushed by me to go see them. He(Jukka) was very impressed by them and sent me a bunch of pictures to prove he was there ! Now that Farmer(Warren`s right hand and guitar tec.) has died I really love having the last picture of he and Warren together.

Last night it was Blue Oyster Cult and Kansas........ I`ve been on board with Blue Oyster Cult since 1973 and Kansas has backdropped my late teens and 20s as they were constantly on the radio and juke boxes playing in the background. I was never a big fan of Kansas but did not dislike them either. I got what I came for with BOC and was happy to see Kasim Sultan still with them on bass. I have a pick he gave to my wife when we saw him with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts years ago. He and Joan motioned us backstage years ago, but my wife didn`t like her making eyes at me and we didn`t go. I always told her that Kasim seemed way more into her than Joan did me, but, well, anyhow........I finally got to give her a hug and get to talk and get a couple pictures taken with her and I got a couple autographs last year......... Then came Kansas and I was immediately drawn back into a good place in time when the world was ahead of me and I was happy and healthy. I am usually quite familiar with who I am seeing, but was just another tourist on the Kansas cruise. I`d have bet dollars to donuts that the singer was the original voice of Kansas.......NOT........he`s only been with them for months.....not even a year yet. No wonder they had so much energy and enthusiasm. New blood feeds the band and makes it quite enjoyable ! Richard Williams has great tone coming from his PRS guitar !!! This video shows something that I`ve never seen a band do live before...... leave the stage with their music still playing in a loop. B.O.C. Next show is seeing Taj Mahal again in a few weeks at The State Theater in State College Pa.

Our Taj Mahal show has now been postponed until Aug. 31. I guess he`s having some health issues to deal with. Here`s the press release: www.pollstar.com/news_article.aspx?ID=818548My wife and kids go to see The Stones in Pittsburgh next Saturday, but I`ve opted out.......... Just can`t see spending $113 to sit WAY up high and watch a jumbotron while............... Well, anyhow, I like the small, more personal settings. I`ll have to be happy with the 3 times I had seen them in the past, starting at the Riverfront Stadium in Cleveland in 1975. That day broke the record for a contained audience at a rock concert, and what a hot day in Cleveland it was !!!: www.cleveland.com/music/index.ssf/2013/05/rolling_stones_in_cleveland_re.htmlIt was 40 YEARS AGO.........tomorrow........ Now there was an adventure of a bunch of hippies in a van, livin` the life and seein` the show. That kind of experience just can`t be duplicated in these times. We even picked up a couple(on the way home a couple days later) hitching a ride in their wedding gown and tux to N.Y.C.. We brought them back here to central Pa. and put them up in a commune for a couple days before returning them to Interstate 80 for the rest of their journey to New York City........still wearing their wedding clothes ! The weather here sucks these days.......it`s like Camp Granada: "And they say we`ll all have fun if it stops raining"

I passed on going to the Rolling Stones Friday nite. I saw them in '81 when I was 17 or 18 in the same Orlando stadium for $36. but I bought 4 extras and scalped 'em for 50 so mine was basically free. Van Halen opened.

Tuesday night Buddy Guy sat in with the Rolling Stones in Milwaukee. Wed. night he got up and sang a couple tunes with Victor Wainwright at his Legends club in Chitown. Its archived on Gigity.tv for $3 as are many shows by plenty of artists, some are even free. I'm just beyond happy for my friends having a jam with a living legend, and he was hilarious, BG tells stories like Redd Foxx!
Tonite I saw The Fixx at Velvet Sessions at Hard Rock Hotel lobby, Orlando. I won a pair of tix on the radio station website yesterday. Free drinks and snacks for 90 minutes before the show too. I think the original 5 play, it was like #TBT for real.
