Looking forward to the next show here...you'll have to check out Charlotte's only authenic British pub www.bigbenpub.com when you're here and stop in to enjoy the food fare from close to your homeland (they even have HP sauce). Mouth watering for a cold pint yet?...meet y'all there!!!

Just had to stop by and say hi to the other Rick K. on the board..........Hello Rick
I see you mention Charlotte
I wonder if Donna Duncan still sings blues at THE DOUBLE DOOR ?
I last heard her there about 20 years ago while visiting my brother, who is now outside Nashville

Hey other RK.!!! Rick Kite here... nice to meet 'ya...yea man, in fact I was thinking about catching her Saturday evening at a new local venue. Always a great show when and where ever The Donna Duncan Band plays. I often can catch her at the Double Door Inn (the oldest blues bar under the same ownership east of the Mississippi) where the Charlotte Blues Society holds our monthly blues meeting/event for open jam or an occasional featured show in the past with Donna. I posted a link to her FB page for you and others to enjoy some videos. HER vocals are awesome and Micheal S. plays a mean lead guitar... m.facebook.com/DonnaDuncanBandBlues Sunday at The Double Door Inn in Charlotte …: youtu.be/O6A3AnZsPJoAnd...Donna Duncan Band - opening for BB King: youtu.be/wZsQ9SMy0R4

If you can persuade your pub to sell "Bushy's" beer, I could be tempted to cross the pond to see you all.

I am a big believer in the fact that everything in this world interconnects, it`s just a matter of noticing how, which most people don`t bother looking for. It`s like my son seeing a fireball in the sky a few weeks ago, but none of the other couple hundred people saw it.......their eyes were glued to their hand held devices.
Getting to the point:
Seeing you on here reminds me of when my brother lived near Charlotte(Matthews) and my old neighbors had moved there years before to build all the grounds and complexes for Jim and Tammy Fae Baker, when the coal bussiness around here started falling under new government regulations. I went down to see my brother, with another brother, in 1995 or 1996 and we went to the Double Door and played pinball in the back and then went out front to see Donna Duncan and the Manic Mood Swings(I believe the band was called....we dubbed them as the PMS band). After we drank heavily there we partied heartier when we got back to Karl`s house. We all passed out watching MTV or some video related TV program. I woke up about 4 AM and watched this on the TV:
I`ve been hooked on Monster Magnet ever since.
My brother has lived in the Nashville area(a few houses down from Bela Fleck`s old house and studio) for over 14 years now. 2 years ago he moved to Liepers Fork(After I turned him on to JJ`s Brighter Days CD/DVD, and he quit his job and sold house) where a lot of musicians live and hang out. He really enjoys being interconnected to something that has been a passion of his and mine since we were kids. I try and get down to a show now and again with him. My last trip was a couple years ago to see Joe Walsh one night and a Double Trouble Reunion the next. I`m hoping to get down there in a few months and meet his new friends and hear some live music ! Brad Whitford and Derek St. Holms have teamed up again and are working on another album with a drummer and bass player my brother is friends with, and they all play at open mic night at Pucketts, 2 blocks away.
