Back in 2008 I was searching Youtube for a video of CSNY performing "Almost Cut My Hair". Stumbled upon these young kids doing a cover of it and watched for a minute - "Cool". Continued searching for CSNY without success. Returned to the kids and watched some more. "Pretty good. Who are these guys? Backdoor Slam." Google. Coming to DC soon. I told my wife we were going to go check them out. Told my son and his friends they should go too. The wife and I got there early and stood up front. Then the show started. At the first sounds coming from this kid's guitar I looked at my wife and she looked back at me - unspoken "wow". Then he started singing. I looked at her again - jaws on floor. A few weeks later I got in touch with Davy and his tour manager and invited them to perform on our college radio station - WMUC. That is when we first had the chance to talk. This led to attendance at the Gov't Mule tour that night and more conversations and emails over the next few weeks. With some effort I was able to get a few folks I knew at PRS to listen to Davy. Paul eventually listened and emailed me back saying "I am going to look into this." The rest is history as they say. Somewhere along the line I convinced him to trade me his Strat (the teal one from the early tours) for a PRS 245.

Hugh certainly did hook me up with PRS! Shortly after Hugh talked to them I got a phone call from the President of the company, they had bought Coming Up For Air and loved it, and he wondered what I played.
I think I said "I USED to play Fender..."
