RK - If you get the opportunity, look up "Ohhhh Noooo", "Bad Asteroid", "Living The Dream" and "Flatlands" these aer my favourite Aristocrats tunes. Either beautiful melodies or epic riffs and beats. I also love "Dance of The Aristocrts".
I have so many of your videos to check out!! I need a month off work haha!

I've been giving the new Aristocrats DVD a good go-round. "Culture Clash Live" is a DVD of live performances from 5 different shows they did in 2013-4 whilst on a tour.
The thing I love about them is not only did the drummer Marco and the bassist Bryan play in Joe Satriani's band (and will do again in the upcoming Satch tour) but they are really great and talented musicians in their own right, and when you put that together with the amazing, eccentric Englishman and guitarist Guthrie Govan, it's a wonderfully talented trio. They all enjoy a laugh and don't take themselves too seriously, which is good.
They do a wacky blend of jazz, rock, prog, metal fusion that is easy to listen to. Guthrie is just amazing and has the fastest fingers I think I've ever seen on a fretboard, not that he does any senseless wiggly-wiggly, it's all really melodic and lovely stuff.

Heading back to cool instrumental rock/jazz/djent fusion this young Australian guitarist "Plini" is truly amazing. His compositions are wonderful blends of lots of different genres and his playing is extremely expressive. Not only that, he managed to complete his degree in Architecture and apparently has recorded everything so far on some basic equipment and a Mac. Give this one a listen : - Atlas - and then check out the rest of them at his youtube channel.

Get your ears around this version on soundcloud: Irwin Thomas - I Can't Wait To Come DownI am seeing him perform this Friday night with his old band, Electric Mary. Also planning on seeing him at the end of March when he performs as part of a Led Zeppelin show.

This video is from 2008 but there are so many great videos of Irwin Thomas it's hard to choose. He originally called himself Jack Jones and was the front man for a super successful Australian band called the Southern Sons in the 80's and 90's. Before that he was a kid in a Van Halen tribute band and could play EVH even better then EVH could. Virgil Donati, the incredible drummer, was in Southern Sons as well. Irwin's vocal range is amazing - he can sing anything, from Led Zeppelin to Jeff Buckley to Bob Dylan to the Beatles and anything you can name. He can hit any note. And on top of that he is a super guitarist. In fact, tonight he is performing at the Sydney Opera House with a Beatles tribute show. He was also in a band called Electric Mary for about 10 years. Defo worth checking him out.
And this epic 10 minute guitar instrumental of a Michael Landau song was from 2007 at a clinic in a suburb of Melbourne.
And this is from the Southern Sons days....
