Keep 'me coming...great memories from your posts... When I was going to college living in Richmond,Va in the late 70's & early 80's , there were many opportunities to see bands that would come thru town that I would have never gotten to see in the small town I grew up in. J. Geils was one them on the Love Stinks tour and what a great show it was. Many others including early Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers , Kenny Loggins, Styx, Huey Lewis, Tommy Shaw, Bob Seger, Ozzie, Howard Jones, Jimmy Buffett, Little Feat, Jethro Tull, The Who (post Keith actually Hampton, Va.) , Aerosmith, Supertramp, REO Speedwagon , Van Halen, Pat Travers Band , Robert Plant, and the list goes on...to include some of the great shows I've seen since living in Charlotte since the early 90's to nand a few and in no particular order including Paul McCartney twice here, The Rolling Stones (Bridges to Babylon tour, Pearl Jam, many, many more Buffett shows, Buddy Guy, Lynyrd Skynyrd, B.B.King , Joe B., Yes, Ringo Starr , Boston, Elton John (twice w/ Billy Joel the 2nd time), Roger Daltrey, Gov't Mule, Apocalyptica, The Winery Dogs, 30 Seconds to Mars, Dave Alvin, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Def Leppard (many times) Chris Cornell, Sting, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Peter Frampton, Linkin Park, Kid Rock, Hayes Carll, CSN, CSNY (Y2K show),N. Mississippi , Allstars, Moreland and Arebuckle, Motley Crue , The Black Crowes, Shovels and Rope, Smashmouth, Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades, Walter Trout, Chickenfoot and of course Davy Knowles and BDS...as you see, my tastes are quite varied from rock, blues, some folk and a little country... Life=Music=Life

I only ever got to see J.Geils Band once......opening for the Stones in June of 1975 at the Cleveland Browns Stadium. They were a very high energy band all in high platform shoes with colorful socks, and they played their a$$es off ! Would have loved to see them again. And Rick K........all those shows ! I would expect nothing less from another Rick K. !!! I`ve met a few R.K.s through music and most are Ricks. Did you know that one of Warren Haynes/Gov`t Mule`s roadies was Rick K., but I hear that he now has signed on with the Tedeschi Trucks Band. We have a lot of differences in our shows, but we`ve both got the #s and some of the same core musicians like Davy, Gov`t Mule, North Mississippi Allstars, JJ Grey, Kenny Wayne Shepherd. The Bands that I`ve seen the most are, and in order, : Gov`t Mule, North Mississippi Allstars, The Allman Brothers,Little Feat, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Steve Miller Band, JJ Grey and Mofro, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Warren Haynes(solo), The Rolling Stones, Jonny Lang, Taj Mahal and Gregg Allman and Friends, then maybe 200 other bands that I`ve seen once or twice..........I am starting to slow down now that my old bones are not handling standing or walking well. I now mostly need a show with a close to the stage seat ! Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Robin Trower are two of my wife`s favorites. Robin is such a sweet man. He let us retake the picture with my wife and I after he saw us replacing batteries in the camera after it not working right......after everone else had cleared the line. He then missed his next two shows from being sick.

My first concert was 1969 or 70 at the Baltimore Civic Center. Long John Baldry opened, followed by Fleetwood Mac, followed by Savoy Brown. What a show! And amberellie, I was a hippie!

The two rk's are very interesting and have seen a lot of great bands! In the 70s I managed to see a lot but then I stopped going in the 80's and 90 and even the early 2Ks. Now I am getting old and I feel a rush to see the greats that are left. Johnny Winter played all the time in a place called Rams Head in Annapolis near me and I kept saying I will catch him next time. Now there is no next time. I've seen Davy four times I believe and he let me play both of his guitars which I am thankful for! I've managed to see Nils Lofgren three times, John McLaughlin early in the 70s and then again at Experiance PRS several years ago (lots of great players at PRS), Long John Baldry, Savoy Brown, Kim Simmons solo, Fleetwwood Mac in 70 and again with Nicks, Buckingham and Christine McVie before they had any hits, Spirit twice, once in a little club where they really had a bad time and once opening for Nil Lofgren who they blew away that night. I've also seen Buzzy Linhart who was really good both times, Ten Years After, Martin Mull who was hilarious opening for McLaughlin in the 70s, Bonnie Raitt and John Mayall at the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival where I will see Davy again this May! And last, I think, is the Foo Fighters who were excellent!
