My first ever LIVE concert was in the beginning of the summer of 1974 inside of the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh Pa. Two friends were entering the Coast Guard the next day and I took them in my `66 Volkswagon to see Bachman Turner Overdrive. The opening band was Wet Willie.
My first ever outside concert was later the same summer at Three Rivers Stadium also in Pittsburgh. We went to see Ozark mountain Daredevils, Chicago, The Doobie Brothers, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Lynyrd Skynyrd never showed up....................
Enjoyed both shows very much and it all led to a life long addiction to live music !

I can't really remember exactly. There were lots of local bands that I saw when I was around 15 or 16. The first big act that I saw must have been around 1984 or 1985. It was either Deep Purple's reunion tour in Mannheim, Germany (I was such a huge DP fan and I was always hoping that they would reunite, and then it happened!), or it was Huey Lewis (support act: Bruce Hornsby) or Brian Adams (support act: T'Pau) in Würzburg, Germany.

My first concert was Ladysmith Black Mombazo, on the Isle of Man in the grounds of Peel Castle. A pretty special one! My dad had just bought Paul Simon's Graceland album on CD, so that had been on major repeat leading up to it! And yes, thank god your music tastes shifted Amber!

LOVE Bruce Hornsby and still listen to T'Pau!

My first concert was Ladysmith Black Mombazo, on the Isle of Man in the grounds of Peel Castle. I was one of the official photogs for the Ladysmith gig. Robin Huw Bowen (one of my heroes) was on the same bill. He was taught to play the triple harp by my great-aunt. (Small World). Jools Holland played as well, but on the following day, I think. Used to love the eclectic mix of bands at the Peel Castle festival and wish it was still going. Next time I'm home, I'll dig out my copies of the photos and see if I have any shots of you, Davy, or maybe your folks.

Brian Adams (support act: T'Pau) in Würzburg, Germany. Have been to Wurzburg. Lovely old place, but there were no bands playing when I visited.

I can't remember. Probably was at the Ohio state fair. The Osmonds, Fifth Dimension, Rare Earth are some of the first, when I was 8 or 10 yrs old in the early 1970s.

I first saw bands play at local pubs such as the Pier Hotel and the Waltzing Matilda Hotel here in Melbourne from when I was 15, and saw alot of Aussie bands the first being Cold Chisel, and INXS, Australian Crawl, The Angels, Midnight Oil and so on. The first 'concert" (as in ticketed, I guess) was INXS at Festival Hall in Melbourne. The second one was Bruce Springsteen for the Born In The USA tour at the Melbourne Showgrounds.

My first concert was J Geils in 1978 @ The Boston Garden .. Sanctuary ! I think Davy met the singer Peter Wolf in Mansfield Ma. on the Kid Rock /Skynrd tour . I've seen them 7 times since, always a high energy party atmosphere and rockin show . They used to play for 3 hrs sometimes with no breaks. Just saw Peter Wolf solo in Jan. he's still an entertainer with lots of stage banter a funny guy for sure ! And they're backing up Bob Seger soon in Boston so it looks like I'll be seeing them for an 8th time
