Hello fellow DK forumers!
My name is Amber (Hello Amber!) Davy's other's half to be, or if you ask me, better half to be!
Davy and I met one summer night 5 years ago whilst he played at Buddy Guy's Legends here in Chicago. My mother had convinced me to join my family in seeing the "adorable British guitarist" her and my father had seen play at Martyr's a few months before. I experienced that night what most of you probably did the first time you saw Davy perform live... "Talk to me some more Davy, sing to us some more, WHERE DID THAT VOICE COME FROM YOU SCRAWNY KID?!" (I was pretty scrawny myself) I did what I said I'd never do and made a complete fool of myself at the merch table, in expressing my need to see him play again and requesting he contact me if he were by chance anywhere near the Chicagoland area again in the future. Three weeks later I found myself in Naperville, 2 weeks after that in LA, a month after that marked the start of frequent DK visits to Chicago and Amber visits on the road, 3 years after that we found ourselves signing a lease together, and 5 years after our first meeting marked the day we became engaged.
What a journey it has been -including me learning all sorts of useless guitar lingo I never thought I'd use or understand (like that time I had a conversation with Joe Satriani about a Floyd-Rose Tremolo System ) him coming to terms with a woman's need for shoes , and memories neither of us will ever forget.
What has amazed me most throughout this journey is the continuous love and support he has received from his fans. Here I'd like to share with you stories from the road, ones even Davy wouldn't tell, describe to you what it's like to live with a musician... I'm talking about those times its been 3 am and SOMEONE jumped out of bed in a frenzy because they had an idea for a lyric or riff... and answer any questions you all may have!
