My son , Dalton, and I saw Davy with the Grainger Brothers on bass and drums last night in Blawnox Pa. at Moondogs. I had heard of Moondogs and their other venue, The Starlight, for years......but had never been into either before last night, when we were in both. Both are old small box buildings with large horseshoe bars. Moondogs was a sweaty little hole in the wall type of place that has always made me feel comfortable, like places are here in the sticks.

When we got there it was an hour and a half until Davy hit the Boards. I saw that he was in the back room playing pool with his drummer and figured that I`d give him space, as nobody else was bothering him yet. After about 45 minutes I decided to go back and have a little chat, and did. Davy was the same personable, friendly, interactive soul that I`d found him to be on the other 3 times we heard him play and met with him. I told him that I should let him relax and play some pool, before the show. He insisted that it was alright, but I soon left anyhow. Well, everyone seeing me back there started the parade.....Sorry Davy.....so he was kept pretty busy leading up to the show, signing guitars and Cds and more and sharing and swapping chat with the many that wanted to greet him.
There were maybe 60 people there during the show, but Davy and Co. put it out like it was a full house at a large venue. That`s one of the things I love about Davy......it`s about the music first and foremost. He played his Black and White(pick guard) Tele most of the night, but near the end he strapped on the custom PRS for a few. I especially love seeing Davy play Fender guitars and told him so. His fast picking and fretboard fingering never ceases to amaze me ! I talked to at least 8 to 10 people who had never heard of Davy before the show and they ALL gave me great raves about him afterwards. Davy was selling multiple items to many of the patrons after the show and again was very friendly and personable.
Here`s a few pictures from the show. I`ll post a little more about the evening as I add more pics. Mine didn`t come out very good as there was little stage light in this dark little blues club, that reminded my also of some juke joints in the south.
