Davy: I'm dying to get your new album but after the ordeal I went through with TheConnexion on your last album, I was skeptical about "Pledgemusic". I did a little online research, and the results have me holding back. Many people gave them money and never saw their products. Please release your album on iTunes so we can get it there. I'll buy a CD from you in person next time you hit Denver.
PS: I decided to post this here in the hopes Davy and the more serious fans would see it, but I didn't want to negatively effect his album sales by posting it on social media.

I just saw this...funnily enough my wife bought the poster set through Davy's website as a Christmas present...little did we know this was a gift that kept on giving...her credit card was scammed a few weeks later....my wife never shops online this being her first and probably last I had a chance to talk to Davy a couple times on Joe B's blues cruise in February and I regret not bringing this topic up with him. It probably wasn't the time or place, but I won't order anything else through The Connextion because of this. I love supporting my favorite artists by buying both the iTunes version of their albums as well as a physical CD to share with friends. I'll have to wait until Davy comes through town next time to buy his upcoming CD. Hopefully he reads this and switches companies... there's too many good ones out there to stay with a shady outfit like this one. Mike

I just got home from the Keeping the Blues Alive cruise, and Davy played all 3 of his sets to a packed house. He was without a doubt one of the crowd favorites. I know Natasha recorded at least one of the sets, so we'll have some video soon. One of the highlights of his performance for me was an incredible cover of Cortez the Killer. Davy, Michael, Brian & Andrew have such great chemistry on stage and it's obvious they really like each other and enjoy playing together. I can't wait to see Davy again! Mike EDIT: Natasha has the videos posted on her youtube page already. Here's a link to Cortez the Killer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZ-bbJs6zf8

I'd like to offer a slightly different take on Joe. Dana is not the only person I've heard refer to "pumping out albums of covers", but I don't think it accurately portrays his release career. Technically every album Joe has ever put out are cover albums... usually with a few Bonamassa originals in them. That changed with his last studio release Different Shades of Blue in 2014. Apart from the 80 second instrumental intro cover of Hendrix - Hey Baby (New Rising Sun), the entire album was new Joe B written songs.
Regarding his suit, I've always viewed the transition from jeans and a shirt to a suit as Joe growing up and accepting his place as one of the current faces of the blues. Blues history is loaded with well dressed guys like Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, etc.. and Joe is obviously very into preserving the memory and history of the blues through his charity Keeping the Blues Alive.
And although I love to hear him tear into Cradle Rock or The River as much as most, I also love the new face he's putting on old blues with his tribute tours. He surrounds himself with the best blues musicians on the planet (Reese Wynans, Anton Fig, and Michael Rhodes, etc...), and finds a way to make 50-70 year old songs exciting and new again.
Just my 2 cents.
Mike

Natasha did her usual great job of capturing video from both nights. I don't want to step on toes so I'm going to link to the Davy thread on Joe B's forum where she posted the links. Scroll to the last post on page 2 for the set list and links for both nights. forum.jbonamassa.com/viewtopic.php?id=27588&p=2

Thank you rk. Now I know why it looked familiar. I've watched the video of Joe B playing Sloe Gin on it probably 50 times on my Tour De Force DVD. Here's a fan-shot youtube video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AceOp5sYHg. I can't believe I couldn't figure that out sooner. Thanks again for the assist.

Does anyone know the history of the battle scarred stratocaster that Davy played on the madhousetv.com performance recently? The way the finish was worn off reminded me of SRV's strat. It stands to reason that something that well worn has a colorful past.
Thanks in advance for any information.

I also went through The Connextion. I purchased Davy's CD, and my card was also compromised. I didn't think much of it, except for the minor inconvenience that was well worth the CD, no harm done to my account, but then I later ordered a shirt, and my card was once again compromised. I also don't do a lot of online shopping. Maybe I should have said something in this forum, but I didn't, because My account was okay. Now, I need another means of purchasing some of Davy's merchandise that I would like to have, because I won't use The Connextion. When I saw Davy recently live, I was bummed that the merch table only took cash. I was prepared to buy two of everything! LOL! Jamie: Thank you for confirming my suspicion. I will let The Connextion know that we've all but confirmed they have a problem. I'd recommend supporting Davey through Amazon, iTunes, etc.. until they get this figured out.

I was at this show, Mike, it was also my first time. Just a fun night! Hollis Brown were excellent, and a very eclectic mix of individuals. I thought they didn't even look like they would be friends, let alone in a band together. LOL, but that was the appeal, and the bass player was fun to watch, I really enjoyed them. When Davy started to play, My jaw was also on the floor, along with the rest of me that melted into a puddle. I had 'Standing room only', and was in front of the stage. I love the videos, a nice archived keepsake of my first show. I didn't shoot any video, I was so mesmerized, I just had to live in the moment, and I knew someone else was right on top of that, LOL, but I did get a couple descent shots. It was also my first time at 'Soiled Dove', a great intimate little venue. I was completely captivated before the first note. Thank you for sharing your first experience. Jamie: Sorry it took me a while to respond to your post. I saw you right away at the concert. It wasn't hard considering there were only about 4-5 females on the floor. I was so blown away by the evening I never left my seat. Next time I'll be less anti-social and come over for a proper introduction.

As a quick follow-up: The Connextion got back with me today and said they've turned my email and details over to their IT department to figure out what happened. I was pleased to see them take it seriously and get right on it.

Hello Davy, This is to inform you that I've tryed a couple of times to down load your new cd and trying to get through alll this bullshit to get has me about to punch my computer. That X connection does not have my name or account, but it does have my credit card number. I've set up this and it messed up. You need to get this straghtened out ASAP!!!!@ Thank you so very much Dale Hey Dale, Have you had success with this yet? Anyone else out there run into this problem and if so, how was it resolved? I didn't have this problem, but I did have a problem after placing an order with Theconnextion, that I thought warranted some looking in to. They are located in (or bill out of) Washington state. I have not had a credit card compromised in 10+ years as I am overly cautious when giving out the information. I had never heard of Theconnextion, but assumed Davy had checked them out when he hired them to run his online store. Within a few days of placing the order, my credit card started getting hammered with $60 and $75 charges to a generic Microsoft store (virtual storefront). This was the only company I had done business with in months using that card that was not a usual charge, and to make connecting the dots even easier, this bogus Microsoft store is also located in Washington state. Davy I would do a little research into this as their business practices obviously reflect back on you, and to the rest of you... be wary when ordering from Theconnextion until we hear back on this. PS: They're also currently out of stock on the autographed Outsider CD's... I bought the last one.

What a great show! This was my first time seeing Davy, and I can't wait to see him again on Joe Bonamassa's blues cruise February 2016. The Soiled Dove Underground is an intimate venue with great sound, and tiered seating/standing for 300-400. There's hardly a bad seat in the house. My wife and I had seats (at Davy's 10 o'clock) in the first row of elevated seating. We were about 25 feet from him and had a perfect view above the heads of the those standing on the floor in front of the stage. I was surprised when an opening act came out ahead of Davy. It was Hollis Brown (http://www.hollisbrown.com) with special guest David Immerglück of Counting Crows (who are both playing tomorrow night at Red Rocks). They came onto the stage to The Rolling Stones - Honky Tonk Woman and played 5-6 songs. They were very polished, professional, and sounded great. The crowd loved them. Among the 5 guests I had with me were 2 talented musicians. I had a moment of panic that the musician I had brought them to see had painted himself into a corner with an opening act that upstaged him. A short time later Davy and the guys strolled onto stage, with no lighting, & no Honky Tonk Woman, & completely captivated the audience from their first note. The crowd gave a hearty round of applause after every song and the band seemed genuinely appreciative and almost surprised each time. I had the lofty goals of shooting a video of Tear Down the Walls, and also of posting a setlist. Apparently it's hard to perform either task when you're busy picking your jaw up off the floor. I can tell you that Davy played most of the songs we've watched on Natasha's 2 video's from earlier this year, and played "Almost Cut My Hair" with a special guest (whose name I didn't catch...but who had an awesome head of hair) as the encore. I parted ways with one of the musicians in the parking lot. He summed up Davy's performance with a heartfelt handshake, a barely audible "Wow" and a smile plastered on his face. The other musician is my brother-in-law & we drove home together. During the 45 minute drive, he gushed above Davy's singing, songwriting, and guitar playing to the point that I, and both our wives (sisters) accused him of having a "man-crush" on Davy. I of course rushed to his rescue to point out that he was obviously just a man of great taste. Davy thank you so much for the show. Here are a couple shots I caught to document the evening. I found Davy and have come to love his music because of 2 people. Joe Bonamassa and Natasha. I found Davy through the "other artists" section of Joe's forum, and sure enough, there was Natasha with one of her first rate videos of Davy's full show at the Iridium. I've watched that over and over and purchased The Outsider and Coming up for Air.
I thought I was dreaming the other night, when at 11:30pm an announcement popped onto my FB newsfeed that Davy had just booked a show at the Soiled Dove in Denver. Needless to say I couldn't buy tickets fast enough, and will be taking 6 other friends/family members with me to see him.
Sept 15th can't arrive soon enough.
I look forward to interacting with you all.
