A couple days ago, I got in the mail, and last night watched:
Gov`t Mule/The Dub Side Of The Mule/3 CD-DVD/2015(2006)
It has 3 CDs:
1.....a total Gov`t Mule disc with backup singers, horns, percussionist, and Gordie Johnson. 2.....with Toots Hibbert 3.....with Gregg Allman & Friends and John Popper
and 1 DVD:
1......DVD with the Toots Hibbert set.....Reggae style
This was a new years eve show at the Beacon Theater with a horn section and back up singers tooand Gordie Johnson on guitar. Gordie has produced some of Mule`s albums and has his own band.
Here`s two videos of Toot`s songs. The 1st one of the songs was made popular by Izzy Stradlin.....ex Guns and Roses guitarist and Izzy Stradlin and the JuJu Hounds:
And another called Hard Road:

For the past two weeks I`ve been chippin` away at a multiple DVD package that was very interesting: The Foo Fighters/Sonic Highways/4 DVDs/2014 Now when Nirvana and Pearl Jam were changing the music scene, I leaned more towards Pearl Jam. Years later, I really like Nirvana, but have never cozied up to the Foo Fighters; although I love when other musicians team up with Dave Grohl. I think he`s an outstanding musician, but weak in the song writing department. I LOVE some of the things he`s done with Eddy Vedder and Mike Watt ! This DVD package has Foo Fighters going to 8 different cities and spending a week meeting musicians stationed there and writing and recording a song in 8 different studios within 8 different areas of the country. My favorite part of it all is the interviews with all the musicians: www.hbo.com/foo-fighters-sonic-highways#/trailer:

Yesterday I listened to and then watched:
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals/Nothing But The Water/CD-DVD/2006
This was her/their first official release and it shows the talent right out of the gate.
Here`s the first song from the DVD:

Whenever someone posts a Grace Potter video I like it but I've never taken the time and listened to a whole album or watched a concert. Maybe I should do that!
Thanks for posting, Rick.

Hey Ralf, My niece lives in Chicago and works for the Alzheimers foundation. She works a lot with Seth Rogen and with Hilarity for Charity. When she does fundraisers, especially in Vermont where Grace is from, Grace is heavily involved. Her and her husband, Matt Burr, drummer in her/their band, hang with the people involved in the fundraising and pay their collective bar tabs etc. My niece says her and Grace have been getting along great and that her and Matt are very friendly and giving people. www.hilarityforcharity.org/Anybody with a few extra bucks......this is a good charity to give to.

Thanks for the facts on that song Rick. I`ve seen it mislabled then for years, and wondered why there were 2 songs by that name. I don`t know much about Jimmy; I just have 1 album....Changes in Latitute, Changes in Attitude(1977)
I do love both of these songs he guested on for Little Feat though:
I bought the LF CD because of my love of Little Feat and the fact that Bob Seger sings the song with them, Something In The Water. SITW was written by Jeffery Steele. His son was one of my niece`s best friends until he was killed in a 4 wheeler accident outside Nashville while he was still just a kid. In the process of buying and listening to the CD I discovered 2 songs sang by Jimmy Buffett that I really enjoy !
Have A Happy Memorial Day Rick and all else looking in.
R.K.

The last few days I`ve been chippin` away at>>>>>>>>>>>>
CROSSROADS--Eric Clapton Guitar Festival 2013 at >>>>>>>>>
Madison Square Garden; New York City, New York...April 12th and 13th 2013.
It`s something one of my sons gave me for Father`s Day................
This one has a lot of the musicians that I`ve seen and bought music by with a few new experiences also like:
Citizen Cope, who I`ve never heard of but will check out more by:
I JUST LOVED that Andy Fairwether Low paid tribute to Carl Radle on the intro to the second song.....Spider Jiving.
Gotta give a big THUMBS UP to Booker T for giving Matt " Guitar" Murphy a small platform near the end of his life, and you can see his happiness for the moment !!!
Also gotta give Buddy Guy credit for letting young Quinn Sullivan have his moment to shine as well on Damn Right I Got The Blues.
Gary doin` his 1 man band thing:
A great exhibition in slidin` by two of the more learned ones:
And here`s one of the better Clapton songs:
I hope to yet one day see Doyle Bramhall II live; he really plays his guitar upside down and has mastered it !!!!

Well.........us die hard Rory Gallagher fans have FINALLY got what we`ve been asking for: What`s Going On TASTE Live At The Isle Of Wight 1970 Been a long hard road to get the rights bought and get everything sorted and released.......... But finally it is here !!!!! Before this festival, Taste had toured with both Cream and Blind Faith, showing their abilities to those who came to see Clapton and introducing them to yet another guitar great. This is footage of Rory Gallagher`s 2nd incarnation of his first band Taste performing at the world`s largest festival held at the Isle Of Wight in 1970. It was a total disaster for the promoters, but it produced some great music for those of us who care about the music. Rory and his bandmates John Wilson(drums) and Richard McCracken(bass) were at odds with each other leading into this concert as their management and record lable were pitting each against each other. Rory asked one last time that that the other two join forces with Rory against the management and record lable and get things as they would like them. There was still resistance, as the two others had been told that Rory was not leaning towards their best interests. Rory stated that this would be their last performance together, before they hit the boards. They finished their performance and were called back for 3 encores before they parted ways for good. The next year Rory launched his solo career and continued it until his death in 1995. Here`s a "taste" of their IOW performance: There are 3 main parts to this DVD>>>>>> 1. The Isle of Wight performance with some interviews leading into it totaling about 1 hr. and 16 minutes 2. Beat Club videos/ 3 songs 3. P3 Music promo videos/3 songs/very strange concepts of German(I believe) origin Attachments:

Last week I watched 2 Steve Earle DVDs>>>>>>>
Steve Earle & The Dukes/Transcendental Blues LIVE/DVD/2000
This was recorded at the Convocation Hall in Toronto Canada on July 26, 2000. I always loved this lineup of Eric Rosco on guitar and vocals, Kelly Looney on bass and vocals and Will Rigby on drums. My favorite part is in the middle when Halo Round The Moon, Galaway Girl, and Copperhead Road are strung together
no good videos on youtube to show you.......
Steve Earle/Live From Austin Tx./DVD/2000
This was recorded for Austin City Limits TV show on November 12, 2000. I`ve always enjoyed watching Austin City Limits, over the years on PBS Television. This was filmed in the same time period as the DVD above and with the same players, BUT only 4 songs are repeated on both performances. Here`s the only video I can find from it:
I just ordered another item from Steve this morning>>>>>>
Steve Earle/The Warner Brothers Years/4 CDs-DVD/2013
I`ve been thinking about ordering this and then I saw this video this morning and I had to have it !
So I`ll be watching it next week, after it arrives.

Tonight I watched: Gregg Allman Live/Back To Macon Georgia(Jan. 14, 2014)/2 CDs-DVD I just got this in the mail today and got right to it after eating supper. Gregg`s voice is strong and he has a great backing band ! I am not familiar with this guitarist, Scott Sharrard, but am about to start checking him out. (EDIT): I was so impressed with Scott`s playing and tone that I just ordered 2 of his CDs>>>>> Scott Sharrard & Brickyard Band & Scott Sharrard/Ante Up. I just talked with my brother who saw him Live with Gregg earlier this year and he echoed my feeling about the guy: Check him out here: scottsharrard.com/ Gregg`s been one of my main men since I started this addiction to music, and I am always into checking out anything and everything I can by him in Allman Brothers Band and Gregg Allman & Friends and just as Gregg Allman. Good to see his son Devon on a few songs also, with Gregg looking on like a proud Papa ! Also great to see Gregg strappin` on the guitar for more than just Melissa too. I`d highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys his music. Here`s a promo for the 2 CD-DVD package(doing one of Scott`s songs): A GREAT alternate version of Whipping Post: And here`s what we`re used to seeing, Gregg and his Hammond B3: Attachments:
