Mr. Knowles,
Would you be willing to do some tutorials on some of your songs? Maybe video yourself teaching some quick/long, easy/challenging, acoustic/electric, rhythm/ lead depending on what folks would like to learn? I'm not sure how it would work, but if there are some requests & wishes, I think it would be fun!

Maybe Island Bound? Beginners could just strum the chords for starters and then try some finger picking.

OOh I would love this. I can strum 3-4 chords, can pick (think Green Day "Time of My Life") so the simpler ones would be great thanks. Oh and I need the strumming pattern hahaahahah.

I think this is a great idea! Definitely up for it.
We have Island Bound as a suggestion, which is great!
Any other tunes (old or new) you may be interested in?

I've always loved your acoustic version of As The Crow Flies from this video: Salute Beer Festival Presents Davy KnowlesBut every time I tried to play it, I failed badly. I'm not even sure about the tuning. Is it open G? Those chords you are playing look quite "exotic". And when I try to look up the fingering from the video it sounds terrible. A video tutorial would be great.

Sure, I can do that! LOVE playing As The Crow Flies, although the absolute definitive version is by Rory Gallagher on Irish Tour '74. It's just a case of playing catch-up with him! It's in open D tuning, and really there are only two shapes to learn, the first one you just move around a bit . I'll get on these. This will be fun!

Do you need some oil for those rusty fingers? Hehe.

Hah, Skippy! Oil is no longer effective. My fingers are too old and rusty. That's why I learned to play slide guitar. That way, I don't have to move my fingers that much.

Davy - I've watched the video I shot of you at PRS playing As The Crow Flies a hundred times and cant figure it out. I could have swore you said it was in standard tuning that day. But it would be great try to learn that song. I'd also like to see a few tips on what you are doing lead wise. Some of your phrasing is amazing. So maybe a video of some lead work would be nice too.

How about anyone who learns to play one of the songs from Davy's tutorial videos has to post a video of them playing back here for the rest to see? Then we can have a global jam!!!
