Back in 2007 there was an attempt to put on a massive festival during the TT down in Peel Bay on the Isle of Man. The first show for the week was The Who. It was all a bit of a shambles as the organizers really hadn't thought some things through and it took forever to get into the grounds. First things first, of course we headed straight for the beer queue which was already quite long. Stood in line with my mate and heard the opening act begin to play.
I then did something I've never done before or since. I left the beer queue without a beer and headed into the tent to listen to the full set of what was then Back Door Slam. I already knew I was hearing something special and I haven't been disappointed since.

That's a hell of a gamble, leaving the beer queue! Remember that gig very well, Pete and Roger were unbelievably lovely people too. Very encouraging and supportive!
