I grinned with happiness when I saw this topic! I had never officially street teamed (that's a verb, right?) before I heard DK's music, but wanting to spread the word about Davy's talents to everyone I knew happened instantly! I will admit to striking up conversations with complete strangers as well....
It has been a great joy to be involved with DK's Street team and I know I speak for many....WE ARE READY!

Looking forward to helping out here Shari by continuing to spread the word about Davy. Many of us here should really be designated as "old" members instead of "new" shouldn't we ... based on the us being involved in the original DK & BDS forums? Maybe "seasoned" would be better terminology... LOL

Although I try to spread the word as best as I can, I have never been an official street team member. This is just because here in Germany my possibilities are very limited. I use word of mouth tactics and write posts in blues/rock related internet forums/fb groups, but that's almost all I can do. I don't think there's a single German radio station that has ever played a Davy song, or would do so if I'd ask them to. It's all main stream here... Judging from Davy's last tours here in Germany, the closest city he's come to is 200 miles from where we live. So hanging up posters and handing out flyers here in our region would be of no use. However, I had the idea to take time off work when Davy does his next tour thru Germany and offer my services as an "assistant to the tour manager". Does that make me a worthy street team candidate?

I'm working on the 'Members' side of the website that will include all sorts of downloadables, Facebook banners, posters, flyers, etc etc. There's so much that can be done with online promotion!
I'll also be putting up exclusives like videos of covers, guitar things etc too.
Any ideas for either the downloadables (what would be useful to you?) , or the exclusives (what would you like to see/hear?) would be brilliant!

I tell everyone I know about Davy. I invited all of our friends to a private event that we hired him to play at so they could here first hand how talented he is. We are now trying to spread the word in Nashville. Funny how we can always seem to fit him in to any conversation.

Ready to start promoting some shows to support the new album . But first lets get the word out about this brilliant new release "The Outsider" As soon as it's available to the general public we have to make people aware via social media , radio stations , newsprint, word of mouth etc. . Get the ball rolling for an awesome tour !

No, no! Far too many dangerous critters there. Australia has got to be the last stop in the tour.

Koala bear? Look here: Top 30 dangerous animals in Australia. And these are only the top 30! Jellyfish, insects, (land and water) snakes, fish, crocodiles, spiders, centipedes, ticks, even snails! All of those beasts can either swallow a young budding music star in one piece or has enough poison to wipe out the whole population of his home island with one bite/sting. My favorite quote is about the cone snail: the snail strikes them with venom 1000 times stronger than morphine, causing paralyses. It then extends its mouth and consumes its prey.Don't let Davy go to Australia first, Debbie!
