I saw where Davy had been playing this red/white Telecaster in N.Y.C. at the Iridium along with his Rory Strat and wondered what the story was ? I just found the answer today on this video. I love watching, and hearing about Davy and his musical adventures as he progresses through the music, years, and equipment used.
Surely the PRS people can`t expect Davy to abandon all other guitars ?!!!?
He`s still a great spokesperson for PRS ! I love the sound he`s getting from this Telecaster though.........
Even Rory Gallagher, who was most noted for his `61 Fender Strat, played other guitars on records(especially) and even on stage off and on over the years.

My brother was given a similar guitar last year in late spring or early summer in honor of money he had given to a local charity for years that benefited kids in his area, by a man who works for Cheryl Crow. She bought these guitars and signed them and had them lacquered over......I believe back at the factory........and given to organizations for auction etc. The man said that my brother was his biggest contributor and knew that my brother Karl was a huge recorded and LIVE music fan, traveling all over the U.S. to see shows, and knew this was a perfect fit for him. It came in the original box, with tags and all. Karl was excited to start a wall display to start putting up all his music memorabilia so I gave him this Gov`t Mule poster to hang also with the original three autographing it. Karl got to hear meet and hang with Warren, Matt and Woody in the late 90s and that has been his favorite band for years.......seeing them more times than any other band. We have/had seen them 7 times together in the past 13 years.

My brother Karl Kendrick, was not only my brother, but also my best friend and favorite concert buddy. We`ve been seeing shows together since he was in collage at R.I.T. in Rochester N.Y. We went to our first concert together in Syracuse N.Y. seeing Molly Hatchet and Henry Paul Band open for The Rolling Stones in the fall of 1981. As I had said........Karl was a Huge Gov`t Mule Fan. He kept trying to get me to see them and I was just ready to pull the trigger and buy tickets when Woody passed on August 26, 2000. After that Mule went through a phase of trying to decide whether or not to go on without him, which is something I can very much understand. They did The Deep End album with many different bass players that I really enjoyed, followed by The Deep End 2 and then a live show called The Deepest End resulting in a New Lineup for the band , now with Keyboards. I went to one of their shows in 2003, where Chris Robinson & The New Earth Mud opened for them and was instantly hooked. My brother Karl and I then teamed up to see them at Warren Haynes` annual Christmas Jam in Asheville N.C. in 2005 and what a great time we had. We then did it again the following year(2006) leading into Christmas. Then in 2009 we saw them together in Pittsburgh Pa. for my birthday. In 2010 I went down to Nashville, where Karl lived to see them together at The Ryman Auditorium. and bought a beautiful poster at The Hatch print shop that I had professionally framed and hung on the wall. The next year we both met up in New York City, at The Beacon Theater for their annual New Years Eve run. They played 2 nights in a row and we stayed at the Beacon Hotel and made 2 great days, and two night`s shows of it. We have seen many other shows of different bands over the years, but The Mule shows were some of our favorites. We saw several shows this past year together in different areas, but had not seen the Mule together since N.Y.C. This past summer Karl bought us Mule tickets for Rose Music Center, in Huber Heights Ohio for my Birthday. It was a spot nearly exactly equa-distant from us both(about 355 miles). The opening act was Rich Robinson`s Magpie Salute. We had seen Chris Robinson`s As The Crow flies together in April at The Ryman again in Nashville and this was then going to be a Mule show PLUS seeing then both Robinson Brothers in their newest bands in one year. We were also both big Black Crow fans. As we got closer to the date(Aug.20th), I called him and said........Feel like a 2Fer ? and told him that if we followed each other back to Morgantown West Virginia we could see Blackberry Smoke together on the 22nd before parting ways to each head back home.......he to Tennessee and me to Pennsylvania. He told me he was too busy, but thanks anyhow. A few days later he called me back and asked if there was a chance that we could still add the 2nd show. I looked, and the same 2 3rd row center balcony seats(Karl loved balcony seats) were Still Available(couldn`t believe that!) and I jumped on them. I called him back and told him so. He had just lost 2 close friends in his community of Leipers Fork and said........Rick, Life`s too short and if you have the chance to do something you enjoy with someone you love.......you should" and we were in ! We met in Ohio a day early(Mon. Aug. 20th) and had a great time talking doing the sights and all. The next day(Aug.21st) we had some of the most meaningful talks in our present lives and then went to see Mule/Magpie. The next day we drove a long part of the day(each in our own vehicle) and went to see The Steel Woods and Blackberry Smoke and were pretty tired after the show and all day travel to get there. We each bought a pizza and ate it after the show then went to our hotel room and slept hard. We woke up late(Aug.23rd) and within` 20 minutes Karl was showered, packed and said he had to hit the road. We gave each other a big hug and said we`d talk soon and see each other soon. The next day Karl was in a terrible motorcycle accident just outside of his hometown of Leiper`s Fork Tn.(just outside of Nashville) and put on life support until All his family could get to Vanderbilt hospital to say good bye. I grabbed my wife, fresh bag of clothes etc. and drove straight through the night(about 800 miles to get there. He was to be taken off the ventilator on Aug. 26.......the same date that Woody passed AND the same day that years later Mule`s long time guitar tec(Brian Farmer) and much more passed on. Both Allen Woody and Brian Farmer were Nashville area locals. The Karma was mind-boggling. Well.......there were complications getting Karl moved to a private room for us and him to spend his final moments together, so it was moved back a day to Aug. 27th. In the end, I`m glad that Karl got his own date to pass. I have never had such a hard time with anything in my life as I have this, but I have wonderful memories of Karl and the many times we spent together with family and alone together on the road seeing Mule and so many other bands. R.ock I.n P.aradise Li`l Brother Karl..........See You On The Other Side>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> www.legacy.com/obituaries/gantdaily/obituary.aspx?n=karl-kendrick&pid=190254771So now my son has the Tele and is playing it And hanging it on the wall when not in use. After all, guitars were meant to be played, not just looked at. Here it is now at my son`s house and Karl and I and our friend George at The Beacon, Christmas Eve 2011, and Karl with Mule at The Beacon:

I came back home with most of Karl`s CDs and have been listening to them and cataloging them into my collection over the past 4 plus months, he abandoned vinyl years ago and I hauled them all back here in 2003. Now when I go to concerts I wear a leather wristband, made from one of Karl`s belts and have a Blackberry Smoke bandana in my back pocket that he bought just before they played their last song "Ain`t Much Left Of Me" which was a very ironic last song. There are no songs up from our show BUT here`s the very last song that Karl and I ever heard together: Here`s Karl`s bike and the two items that I speak of.
