I learned of Rory's death from the newspapers. I remember that I met with my friends at "our" pub that night and we had a drink on Rory.

R.I.P. Chrissie Fox I just learned of the passing of Christine (Chrissie) Fox from the other side of the world. I first got to know Chrissie about 12 or 13 years ago through The Meeting Place, a Rory Gallagher forum run through the official Rory Gallagher site by the R.G. family. I learned most of my real information about Rory through Chrissie. Rory`s family was always guarded about the facts of his life, and sharing them with the masses. She shared real stories and pictures with me that I promised I would never share while she was alive, as she knew that Donal and others would not be happy with her. She had told me about having a relationship with Rory and that it was never made public, but would one day when Donal writes his book..........I`ll be very curious to see if that book gets written and if she`ll be written about in it. She seemed to have a good relationship with Rory`s mother Monica and told me that Monica would walk and work around the house singing Rory`s song: Just The Smile......from his first Rory Gallagher album. That always made me smile ! Rock In Paradise Chrissie............... Now you can catch up with Rory and Monica again. I honored Chrissie`s wishes and have not shared the stories or the pictures.......until now. I got something really cool in the mail last week.................from the late Chrissie Fox. She had a mutual friend sort through recordings she had taped at Rory shows she had attended, and he cleaned them up and made them ready for CD burning several years ago, but has kept them a secret for years, from most people. I`ve got and have listened to these Rory Gallagher shows the past several days, that are not available to the masses(well....some are, but not this version): Hammersmith Odeon, London/Jan. 18, 1977 Hammersmith Odeon, London/Jan. 19, 1977 BBC Concert/1971 Bottom Line, N.Y.C, N.Y./Nov. 11, 1978 Dominion Theater, London/Nov. 1988 Marquee, London/July 27, 1983 Middlesex Polytechnic , London/Jan.12, 1979 Great to have these shows from someone who was close to Rory, who was sitting down front with a recorder stuffed down her pants.................Now THAT~S ROCK~N~ROLL !!!!! And a big THANK YOU to my UK buddy Phil who has kept me in The Loop !
