My brother went out in Nashville, last night, to see one of our favorite Nashville guitarists....Audley Freed. Audley had a group back in the `90s called Cry Of Love. He was an original member of a group NOW getting some recognition called Trigger Hippy. He toured with Dixie Chicks, Black Crowes, Gregg Allman and friends and more......and most recently Sheryl Crow. Anyhow we were both exposed to Audley through Warren Haynes. Karl went and saw Audley last night and here`s what he just sent me: Great Night with Audley In addition to seeing Audley Freed, Peter Frampton, Robben Ford and Tom Pettersson stopped by for a song. They played hits from 1971 and plan to do 1972 next month. Peter played Humble Pie - Four Day Creep and was incredible. We couldn't have been 20 feet from him. It was something to see! I am looking forward to seeing you next week. It will be a great time to catch up, put the past few years behind us and look forward to "Brighter Days!" Here`s a version of Peter doin` 4 Day Creep(not last night): Here`s Audley with Mule doin` Dear Prudence when we saw them in Nashville in 2010: Audley is a very shy and humble man. We`ve seen him several times and he always impresses me. He usually arrives in his pick up truck and carries his guitar into the gigs. And here`s Audley with Mule and his old bassist buddy from Cry Of Love(Robert Kearns) who went on to replace Leon in Skynyrd. Also here`s Artimus Pyle(of Skynyrd) on drums. This was a tribute concert for Allen Woody, who was Mule`s bassist up until his death: Attachments:
